BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic football team began its second bye week of 2025 with three goals: rest, recovery and self-evaluation. The bye week also provides a perfect opportunity for guys who have seen limited snaps to scrimmage and prepare for the last four games of the season.
Prior to the 2025 season, Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley promised that the team would be on the attack. And thus far, that is exactly what the team has done. In the month of October, the Owls went 18-for-20 in fourth down conversions and last week, the Owls were a program high 7-for-7. FAU continued to attack, despite Navy being in control, with 21 fourth quarter points.
The Owls continue to be led by redshirt junior QB Caden Veltkamp, who has completed 225 passes on the year for 2,324 yards. Veltkamp has spread the ball to a deep group of receivers with three sitting atop the unit with three scores. WR Dominique Henry has 19 receptions for 260 yards and three scores, fellow WR Jabari Smith Jr. has 14 catches for 167 yards and three TDs while TE Michael Kirch has added 13 catches for 141 yards and three TDs.
Redshirt junior LB Tyler Stolsky leads the defense with 60 tackles, including four a loss of seven yards, one of which was a sack. Fellow linebacker Leon Hart Jr. had 53 tackles, 4.0 for a loss of 15 yards, including a sack. Redshirt junior DL CJ Doggette Jr. leads the team with 3.0 sacks while sophomore Gavench Marcelin and redshirt junior Wilky Denaud hold two each.
