Two Owls Named to D100 Freshman Watch List

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Bella Foran and Destiny Johns of the Florida Atlantic softball team have been named to the D1Softball's D100 Freshman Watch List, announced by D1Softball on Wednesday. Their watch list puts an early spotlight on true freshmen who could make an immediate impact on their respective teams.
The freshmen make up two of 12 newcomers for the Owls and will look to contribute right away as the team looks to defend their American Athletic Conference Championship title and make their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regional.
Foran hails from Hoover, Alabama, where she played at Hoover High School. She earned First Team All-Metro honors after hitting .471 and was ranked as a Top 15 player in the 2024 Extra Elite 100.
Johns, a native of Groveland, Florida, arrives to Florida Atlantic from South Lake High School, where she also played volleyball and basketball. In her senior season, she batted .415 in 105 plate appearances and totaled 35 runs and 20 RBIs.
The Owls are scheduled to open their 2025 season on Feb. 6 as part of the Paradise Classic on Joan Joyce Field at FAU Softball Stadium.
