BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's tennis hosted their second ACC opponent of the young 2025 dual match season. The Owls fought for the second consecutive match until the bitter end, ultimately falling to No. 56 Clemson on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls, who fell to 0-1 overall, took advantage of the wind early on, facing a Clemson team who, despite having three matches under their belts, was playing their first match of 2025 outdoors. The Tigers, 4-0 overall, fought back from early large doubles play deficits, but ultimately, FAU held on to earn the best two-of-three doubles point.
The singles matches were forced into a third set, with FAU senior
John Bernard taking advantage of the additional set to earn a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 win. The Owls' final point was courtesy of sophomore
Mark Havlicek, who captured court two in straight sets at 6-2, 6-3.
