CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball could not seal the season series against Miami on Tuesday, falling 14-6 in the third and penultimate matchup between the crosstown rivals.

The Hurricanes scored in all but one inning on Tuesday. They jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before a sacrifice fly from Patrick Ward put the Owls on the board in the top of the third.

Miami added another run in the third and three in the fourth to lead 7-1. The Owls showed signs of life in the sixth with three straight hits to start the inning. Brando Leroux brought Christian Adams in with a double and Carter Brady scored Joey Slattery with a sacrifice fly.

UM pulled away for good with four runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth. The Hurricanes totaled eight doubles and two home runs on their way to a season high 14 runs against the FAU pitching staff.

THE BATS

The Owls finished with 10 hits from 10 different players.
Leroux had the only extra base hit of the night.

THE ARMS

Of the seven different pitchers used by the Owls, only Nicholas Del Prado and Justin Gay did not allow a run.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Owls travel to Wichita State for the first time in program history for a weekend series beginning Friday at 7 p.m. EST.
