BOCA RATON, Fla. – After five straight road games, Florida Atlantic baseball returns home to face Tulane in American Conference play on Friday night. After the weekend series, the Owls will go back on the road for five more to close out April.

WEEKEND PROMOTIONS

This week's "Sunday Funday" giveaway presented by Robes Law Group is a C.J. Williams trading card. After the game, kids 12 and under can run the bases and players will be available for autographs in front of the first base dugout.

OWLS IN REVIEW

The Owls will enter Friday trying to snap a season-long three-game skid. After taking the opener from Wichita State last Friday, the Shockers won the series with 14-9 and 10-5 victories on Saturday and Sunday. The Owls were shutout for the first time this season in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at FIU.

WHO'S HOT

For the second time this season, John Schroeder was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced on Monday. Schroeder went 6-for-17 (.353) at the plate in four games last week with three home runs, seven RBI, and five runs scored. The switch hitter homered twice from the right side of the plate in Friday's 4-2 win over Wichita State and added another long ball from the left side in the middle game on Saturday. Schroeder enters this weekend with a six-game hitting streak and a seven-game reached-base streak.

The Owls recipe for success on Fridays this season has been a strong five-six inning start from C.J. Williams and three-four shutdown innings from the bullpen. Excluding the season opener against Vanderbilt, the FAU pitching staff holds a 1.77 ERA in 23 innings in the opening game of a weekend series.

THE OPPONENT

Tulane is 20-17 overall and 5-7 in the American. The Green Wave is coming off a 14-7 defeat at the hands of South Alabama on Wednesday. Preseason AAC Player of the Year Teo Banks leads the team with eight home runs.

In 2023, under first-year head coach Jay Uhlman, the Green Wave finished the regular season 15-39 but made a Cinderella run through the AAC tournament. They defeated top-seeded ECU in the championship game to earn a regional bid.
