Sandy Owls Ready for GSU Day of Duals

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team (6-2) will look to continue its momentum this week as the Sandy Owls head to Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday to compete in the Georgia State Day of Duals.
The Sandy Owls will take on Austin Peay, Mercer, and Georgia State.
Florida Atlantic will begin the Day of Duals with an 11 a.m. first serve against Austin Peay. The Sandy Owls will then take on Mercer at 1 p.m., before closing out the tournament with a 5 p.m. first serve against host Georgia State. The Sandy Owls are 1-0 all-time against Austin Peay, earning their first win against the Governors, 5-0, on March 4, 2022. Florida Atlantic holds a 2-0 all-time lead over Mercer with their last meeting being a 5-0 Sandy Owl win on Feb. 25, 2023. The Sandy Owls trail 9-11 all-time against Georgia State, however, Florida Atlantic has won four of their last five meetings, including a 4-1 win earlier this season on Feb. 23, 2024.
Following Wednesday's contests, the Sandy Owls will return home next Tuesday, March 12 as they host the Capri Classic.
