BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team, ranked No. 45 nationally, played its second match in two days and pulled off a 5-2 win over Brown on Friday.
The Owls' day began with the men's and women's teams recognizing Jeff Kanouse, who has been the FAU's racket stringer for more than 20 years.
Following team introductions, Florida Atlantic took to the courts, winning doubles matches on both courts #1 and #2.
Holding the 1-0 lead,
John Bernard was the first to capture his singles court with a 6-4, 6-1 win.
Alberto Colas followed with a straight set win on court #1 and
Joao Graca, who is returning from injury, clinched the match for FAU with a 7-5, 6-4 win on court #4. The Owls' fifth and final point was scored by
Jiri Jenicek, playing on court #3.
FAU will next play host to DePaul at 12 p.m. Saturday.
