Jakus Press Conference Friday at Baldwin Arena; Open to Public

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University will host a press conference on Friday at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena to officially welcome Head Men's Basketball Coach John Jakus.

Jakus (pronounced "JAY-kis") was announced Wednesday night as the program's 10th head coach, succeeding Dusty May, who was named to the same position at the University of Michigan.

The press conference on Friday at Baldwin Arena is open to the public and begins at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and parking is free. The press conference will be streamed live, free of charge, on FAUSports.com.

Florida Atlantic President Stacy Volnick, Vice President and Director of Athletics Brian White and Jakus will speak during the event. Media in attendance will have the opportunity for interviews following the program.

Jakus has spent the last 12 years of his coaching career at Baylor and Gonzaga, coming to Florida Atlantic after serving as the associate head coach at Baylor.
