RICHMOND, Va. – The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team, ranked No. 64 nationally, suffered a 4-2 loss off the rackets of weekend host No. 60 VCU on Sunday morning.
After rattling off 11-consecutive wins, the Owls have hit the most difficult portion of their schedule, playing only ranked opponents, and have now been dealt their sixth loss of the year. No loss has been by more than two points, including three by just one point.
On Sunday, the Owls got on the board with a court #4 win by
Carla Galmiche. Senior captain
Amber McGinnis captured court #5 moments later to pull the Owls within one at 3-2. The three-set battle on court #1 fell VCU's way, allowing the host to clinch the match at 4-2.
