RICHMOND, Va. – Florida Atlantic women's tennis team, ranked No. 64 nationally, fell to fellow American Athletic Conference member, No. 54 Memphis, 4-3 in a non-conference contest on Saturday.
The two teams squared off in Virginia with both teams also facing VCU this weekend. Memphis captured the doubles point and held a 1-0 lead when the two teams moved into singles play.
The Owls picked up three singles wins, all in two sets, with
Panna Bartha,
Victoria Gomez O'Hayon and
Millie-Mae Matthews earning victories. Two of the three singles matches that Memphis captured were only earned after three sets.
