BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic's men's basketball team (18-4, 8-1 AAC) continues to climb the Associated Press Top 25, coming in at No. 20 in the latest Monday poll.
This marks the 15th consecutive week the Owls are ranked, the 10th longest active streak in the nation.
With seven straight victories, Florida Atlantic is tied with No. 2 Purdue for the second longest win streak among teams in the Top 25. Only four teams currently in the rankings have more total victories this season than FAU (18). With 53 wins dating back to the beginning of the 2022-23 season, the Owls have the most in the nation over that time span, one more than No. 4 Houston.
In their one game over the previous week, Florida Atlantic picked up their largest conference win yet and reached the century mark for the third time of the season in a cruising 102-70 victory over Tulsa. The team shot over 50% for the 10th game of the season and all five starters notched double digit scoring nights, led by junior guard Johnell Davis with 24 on 8-for-12 shooting and junior center Vlad Goldin scoring 18 and making seven out of his 10 attempts.
FAU returns to the road on Thursday, Feb. 8, taking on rival UAB (14-8, 6-3 AAC) for the second time this season.
