BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team earned every point in a 5-2 decision over Georgia State on Saturday. The win moves the Owls to 3-1 on the year and gives the squad their third-consecutive win, all by a 5-2 margin.

The day began with doubles play that saw each of the three courts needing extra play to secure the win. Ultimately, the Panthers took the early 1-0 lead.

Panna Bartha and Millie-Mae Matthews were the first Owls to record straight-set singles wins, taking court one and five, respectively. GSU responded by pulling within one at 3-2, but Amber McGinnis erased the margin by jumping out in the first set 6-2 and holding on to win the match with a 7-5 second set. Victoria Gomez O'Hayon clinched the match with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win on court two and Lexi Silna proved the victor in a three-setter.

With the win, the Owls move to 3-1 and they are scheduled to play host to DePaul at 1 p.m. Sunday. There is a threat of weather so the time may be adjusted.
