2024 NFL Owls - Week 16

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Week 16 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books with six former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action. Here's a rundown of how each performed during the 16th week, a special Wednesday edition due to the Christmas Day game featuring an NFL Owl (All gametimes listed below are Eastern):

#69 Evan Anderson | DT | San Francisco 49ers
- Playing less than 40 miles away from his old collegiate stadium, Anderson and San Francisco traveled to Miami to play the Dolphins. In the team's 29-17 loss, he played 29 snaps, third most in his young career, and recorded a tackle.
49ers' Record: 6-9 (Fourth in NFC West, eliminated from playoff contention)

#84 Harrison Bryant | TE | Las Vegas Raiders
- Bryant saw the field 14 times, five snaps on offense and nine on special teams. Las Vegas broke their losing skid, picking up a 19-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

#43 Matthew Hayball | P | New Orleans Saints
- For the second game in a row, Hayball punted the ball four times. In their third primetime appearance of the season, the Saints fell in the Monday night matchup to the Green Bay Packers.

#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
- In Cincinnati's 24-6 takedown of their AFC North foe Cleveland Browns, Hendrickson built on his NFL sack lead, bringing down the quarterback to up his total to 13.5 on the season. He has now reached that magical 13.5 number in four of the last five seasons. Also registering two QB hits, he has now notched a career high 29 on the season.
Bengals' Record: 7-8 (Third in AFC North, currently the 10th seed in the conference due to tiebreakers but has the same record as seventh, eighth, and ninth seeds)

#42 James Pierre | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
- Pierre drew the start at cornerback, his first since October of 2022, in Pittsburgh's 34-17 loss to their division rival Baltimore Ravens. Going up against his cousin and QB Lamar Jackson, Pierre was targeted three times, to which he surrendered just one completion and had four tackles on the afternoon. He also saw big impact in a familiar spot on special teams coverage, forcing his second fumble of the season.
Steelers' Record: 10-5 (First in AFC North, currently third seed in the conference)
