Owls to Close Homestand Against Texas State

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic's men's basketball team will host Texas State on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The game, airing on ESPN+, tips off at 2 p.m.

The Owls (6-5) take on a Bobcats team (7-3) that has won five straight games to mark the final home game of 2024 and conclude a two-game stand at the Elly. The two programs have only faced off once back in 2016 that resulted in a narrow 61-57 Texas State victory in Honolulu, Hawaii.

LAST TIME OUT

FAU took down Jacksonville by a score of 85-63 on Tuesday, Dec. 10 in the third annual Boca Raton Megabowl. Redshirt junior forward Tre Carroll, the reigning American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, scored 17, sharing the team lead with freshman center Matas Vokietaitis who tied his career high. The Owls had a strong outing in the paint, outscoring the Dolphins 42-10 and winning the rebound battle 50-36 while four members of the team's frontcourt recorded double digit points.

FAU was ranked fifth in the American Athletic Conference's Preseason Coaches' poll. Tandy was named to the preseason All-AAC Second Team
