Florida Atlantic Heads South To Face FIU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's basketball closes out its two-game road stretch on Saturday, Nov. 23 as the Owls head south to take on south Florida rival FIU for a 1 p.m. tip inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC: AT A GLANCE

FIU enters this weekend's matchup at 1-3 overall and are on a three-game skid after dropping contests against Abilene Christian, 76-73, Jacksonville, 72-54, and Miami, 79-51.
FIU is led offensively by Parris Atkins, tallying 58 points, averaging 14.5 points per game and Bineta Diatta, recording 42 points, averaging 10.5 points per game. Mya Kone leads the Panthers in points per game this season, averaging 21 points per game in her one game of action.
Aaliyah Pitts is the Panthers' assists leader, dishing out a team-high 3.25 assists per contest.
Defensively, the Panthers are led on the glass by Atkins with 27 rebounds, averaging 6.8 per contest, while Kone leads the team in rebounds per game, averaging 14 per contest in her one game so far this season.

SERIES HISTORY

Florida Atlantic trails FIU in the all-time series, 17-38. The Panthers also hold the series lead when playing in Miami, 20-6. Florida Atlantic has won two of the last three meetings between the two programs, but FIU won 65-62 in the last meeting on Dec. 14, 2023.

LAST TIME OUT: AT STETSON

Fourth-quarter struggles plagued the Owls in their 75-63 loss at Stetson on Tuesday.
Jada Moore and Erin Rodgers led the Owls in the contest, scoring 17 and 13 points, respectively.
Ta'Ziah Jenks pulled down a team-high eight boards, while Moore and Stefanie Ingram finished with six apiece.
Ingram dished out a team-high five assists, and Jenks turned in a team-high two steals.
The Owls outscored the Hatters in the first quarter, 14-12, and third quarter, 15-11.
Florida Atlantic also held the advantage in points off the bench, 23-8, second chance opportunities, 14-10, and in points off turnovers, 13-12.
