BOCA RATON, Fla. – Six Florida Atlantic women's soccer players were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Drew Dempsey,
Daniella Diaz,
Leila Etemadi,
Noa Olivia Ganthier,
Michelle Horan, and
Stella Rubidoux were named CSC Academic All-District in honor of their tremendous efforts on the pitch and in the classroom.
Dempsey was one of the five leading scorers for the Owls in the 2024 season, with two goals and an assist on the year. She is completing her degree in Public Safety Administration with a 3.52 GPA. With her career as an Owl coming to a close, she has totaled four goals and four assists in 37 games with a total of 1,054 minutes.
After being named American Athletic Conference Honorable Mention for the week of Sep. 23, Diaz finished the season with 1,482 minutes. She scored her first collegiate goal in the win over Charlotte. Diaz now totals 3,887 minutes in her career. The Exercise Science major holds a 3.76 GPA. With the solid backline on the pitch for the Owls, Diaz helped record five shutouts.
Etemadi was named one of the captains for the 2024 season. She has been a leader on and off the field as she is one of the six to be named as CSC Academic All-District for the second consecutive year. Etemadi holds a 3.91 GPA as a Biological Sciences major. On the season, she appeared in all 18 games.
Senior Ganthier started in 15 games for the Owls. She is working on her degree in Pre-Business with a 3.82 GPA. As a transfer from Lipscomb, she completed her second season with Florida Atlantic. This season, she recorded a career-high of 850 minutes as an Owl.
Horan was named AAC Third Team All-Conference at the conclusion of the 2024 regular season. She led the Owls with two goals and two assists on the year after making an appearance in all 18 games. During the 2024 season, she registered a career-high of 1,085 minutes. Horan completed her undergraduate degree in the summer and started her MBA in Executive Marketing this fall. With her efforts in the classroom, this is the second time in her career that she has been named CSC Academic All-District.
A transfer from Air Force Academy, Rubidoux joined Florida Atlantic in 2024 after taking a year off. Completing her degree in Geoscience, she currently holds a 3.51 GPA. Rubidoux started in all 18 games on the season. In her first year as an Owl, she totaled 1,448 minutes.
