BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's basketball will take to the hardwood for the first time on Tuesday, Oct. 29 as the Owls host the University of Fort Lauderdale for an exhibition matchup inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
- The Florida Atlantic Owls enter their 41st season as a program and their fourth under head coach Jennifer Sullivan in 2024-25.
- The Owls return five from the 2023-24 squad, highlighted by double-figure scorers Jada Moore and Mya Perry. Moore is the Owls' returning statistical leader in rebounding (5.9 rpg), assists (2.3 apg), and steals (1.2 spg). Perry is the team's returning statistical leader in scoring (11 ppg), 3-point field goal percentage (.386), and 3-pointers (66). The Owls also return Maria Myklebust, Kristina Godfrey, and Evie Van Der Woude.
- Florida Atlantic also welcomes eight newcomers for the 2024-25 season, including transfers Stefanie Ingram, Ta'Ziah Jenks, and Zahira Arizmendi, and five true freshmen, including Erin Rodgers, Alana Rouser, Lovisa Asbrink Hose, Sydney Mains, and Emaya Lewis.
- Fort Lauderdale enters Tuesday's matchup at 0-1 overall after opening their season against Keiser, falling 85-41.
- The Eagles are led by Maiya Petit and Nina Solomon, averaging 15 and 10 points per game, respectively. Solomon also leads the Eagles in steals, collecting four.
- Samiya Morris and Esther Joseph are the Eagles' assist leaders, dishing out three assists each.
- Brinyia Rolax leads the Eagles defensively, collecting a team-leading eight rebounds and recording two blocks.
- Tuesday's contest will mark the first-ever meeting between Florida Atlantic and Fort Lauderdale.
- Following Tuesday's contest, the Owls will get ready to open up their 2024-25 season on the road as they head to Gainesville, Florida, on Monday, Nov. 4, for their season opener against the Florida Gators
