BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic men's tennis will host two matches this weekend. The first, versus Louisiana, is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19 with Stetson visiting Paradise the following day, Saturday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m.
Friday's match has been designated as a Red & Blue match, which is part of the year-long student-athlete competition. Pizza will be distributed to students while supplies last. The Owls hold a 6-2 all-time record over UofL, including a 4-3 victory in their last meeting back on April 7, 2022. Florida Atlantic will return to the courts on Saturday to play host to Stetson. FAU is 15-4 all-time versus the Hatters.
The Owls opened their season last weekend, playing the program's first night match, and proved victorious with a 5-2 win over Georgia Southern. FAU earned the doubles point and then saw the four newcomers go 3-1. Jiri Jenicek captured court two, Juan Martian Jalif won court four and John Bernard made quick work on court six. Alberto Colas picked up where he left off a year ago and improved his singles match win streak to four matches with a 6-0, 6-3 victory on court one.
Both the Ragin' Cajuns and the Hatters will be opening their 2024 campaigns this weekend in Paradise.
