BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the second game in a row, the No. 23 Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team (13-4) will host a matchup at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The next opponent: Wichita State (8-8) on Thursday, Jan. 18 to tip off at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN2.
For the first time in their inaugural American Athletic conference play, the Owls will take on an opponent with almost no history between the two. This will mark the first matchup featuring Wichita State and FAU since 1998.

In the Owls' last matchup at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on Jan. 14, they took down familiar rival UAB, 86-73, behind 30 points from junior guard
Johnell Davis and 18 points by senior center Vlad Goldin. The two combined for 18-for-26 shooting from the field. It was Davis' third 30+ point outing of his career, second of the season, and second against the Blazers.
- Davis, named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season, is averaging 21.1 points per game, 7.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game on 53.5% shooting from the field and 48.8% from beyond the arc over the last 10 games
- 10 Owls have tallied double digit scoring games this season: led by Davis with 15 such occurrences, Goldin with 13, and junior guard Alijah Martin with 10
- Following his 8-for-10 shooting day from the rim, Goldin grows his nation-leading field goal percentage number to 71.9%
- As a team, currently ranks 20th in the nation in both field goal percentage (49.08%) and effective field goal percentage (56.1%)
- Out of 14 AAC teams, the Owls rank second in points per game (82.4), field goal percentage (49.1%), three-point field goal percentage (36.2%), and assists per game (15.1)
- Florida Atlantic will have to contain Wichita State guard Colby Rogers, leading the team at 16.1 points per game
- The Shockers feature three players averaging over six rebounds per game: 6-6 forward Dalen Ridgnal (7.6), 6-10 forward Kenny Pohto (7.1), and 6-11 center Quincy Ballard (6.3)
The Owls will return to the road on Sunday, Jan. 21 to take on UTSA (7-10, 1-3 AAC). The early afternoon matchup will tip off at 3 p.m. EST and aired on ESPN+.
