Boca Raton, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's men's swimming and diving team has joined a new conference, but will look to maintain the same success.Â

The Owls are off to a great start in their goal as they have swept the weekly swimmer and diver of the week awards after their first meet as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.Â

Peyton Ming has been named the ASUN Swimmer of the Week and
Brandon Shepherd has been named Diver of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

It was a stellar Owls debut for the junior Ming against Indian River, earning individual victories in the 100 back (50.14) and 100 fly (49.62) He was also part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:30.43).

The junior Shepherd picked up right where he left off from last season after winning five diver of the week awards and the conference diver of the year. He won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive with scores of 284.78 and 288.38, respectively.Â

The Owls are set to hit the road for the meet against Nova and the University of Florida on Friday Sep. 29, beginning at 1 p.m.
