DENTON, Texas – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team is sitting strong through three days of the 2023 Conference USA Outdoor Championships. The Owls competed in one race Friday, the 10000m, followed by a multitude of events on Saturday. Â

FAU will be well represented in the 800m for the final day thanks to two Owls qualifying in the preliminaries. In addition, multiple runners set personal bests and entries into the all-time school record book.

- Jessica Lambert had a characteristically dominant performance in the 800m preliminaries. She was on top of the field out of 23 runners with a time of 2:13.25
- Rosa Ten Berg also qualified for the 800m finals. The freshman from Amsterdam recorded a time of 2:14.75 for a fourth-place finish in the prelimsÂ
- Cara Simpson ran a personal best and made school history in the 100m preliminaries. Her time of 11.6 is third all-time among any Florida Atlantic runner. Simpson also impressed in the 200m, running for the fourth best time in FAU history (23.97)
- Anabell Reumann concluded her fantastic freshman season in the 3000m steeplechase, placing in fourth (11:03.31)
- Madlen Kappeler ran for a time of 37:58.03 in the 10000m, seventh best in school history
The Owls will put a bow on their outdoor season and their time in Conference USA on Sunday. On the schedule for Florida Atlantic runners is the 800m finals, the 5000m run, and the 4x400 relay. Watch the final day of the C-USA ChampionshipsÂ
