No. 2 Florida Atlantic sweeps No. 4 UAB to advance to the C-USA Championship Finals

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – No. 2 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball (18-13, 1-1 C-USA) punched its ticket to the Conference USA Championship finals, earning a dominant 5-0 sweep over No. 4 UAB (18-15, 2-1 C-USA) on Friday at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park.

Emma Grace Robertson and Ashleigh Adams got the Sandy Owls started, winning a 21-16, 21-15 two-setter against UAB's Emma Andraka and Ella Alexander. Courtney Moon and Marketa Svozilova extended the Sandy Owls lead to 2-0 on court three, picking up another 21-16, 21-15 two-set victory over the Blazers' Jessica Ennis and Adriana Pereira. Christine Jarman and Ellie Austin clinched the match for Florida Atlantic, capturing the Sandy Owls third two-set win of the day with a 21-19, 21-17 win on court two against UAB's Brooke Pertuit and Mikayla Law-Heese. Logan Mignerey and Stephanie Young notched FAU's fourth point on court five, making it four two-set victories for the Sandy Owls, 21-11, 27-25, against the Blazers' Olivia Stant and Olivia Chychrun. Jillienne Cloud and Julie Honzovicova closed out the day, producing a three-set comeback on court one, defeating UAB's Arden Copping and Jasmin Haas, 17-21, 23-21, 15-11 to complete the Sandy Owls' sweep against the UAB Blazers.
