BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University softball (21-12) fell in double header action versus host UNF (17-10) on Wednesday evening. The Owls fell 8-0 in the first game and 4-0 in the second.
The Owls recorded two hits in the first game and saw the Osprey tally 11 to score their eight runs.
- Becca Jones and Sommer Baker were the two Owls credited with the team's hits.
- Gabby Sacco started the game, giving up seven hits, and four earned runs in the loss. She moves to 11-3 on the year
- Summer Clark tossed the final 3.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits
Game two saw UNF take advantage of Owl miscues, scoring one run in the first, and three in the third, while FAU committed three errors. The Owls matched UNF's hit total at five.
- Lynn Gardner started the game for the Owls. She gave up four runs, only one earned, allowed four hits, and retired two on strikeouts
- Ainsley Lambert tossed the final two of one-hit ball and recorded a strikeout
- Zoey Jones had a nice day going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles
- Jesiana Mora also had a double and was 1-for-3 on the day
- Cammeo Presutti kept a hot bat with a 2-for-4 day to account for each of the squad's five hits
FAU will next travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee for a three-game Conference USA series from March 31-April 2.
