BOCA RATON, Fla. – After nearly four hours of work, the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team fell to #43 Colorado State, 4-3, on Saturday.

New doubles combinations saw the Owls take courts one and two and were on the verge of a court three win, when the point was clinched.

The entire day was filled with ups and downs, players controlling their courts and then being controlled, except for court three which was a battle from the beginning to the end.

Following three sets on court five, CSU evened the contest and then took a 2-1 lead after a court two win. FAU's Millie-Mae Matthews captured court six by a 7-5, 6-2 score to even the match score at 2-2. The Owls took control once more, at 3-2, courtesy of a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 Victoria Gomez O'Hayon court four victory. CSU, who raced out to a first set lead on court one, then tied the match once more at 3-3 with a top court win. All eyes shifted to court three, where both teams and fans cheered following each point recorded. Ultimately, CSU took the court three match 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) and the contest at 4-3.
