Owl Classic Takes Place This Weekend

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The third and final home tournament of the season is on tap for the Florida Atlantic University softball team. The Owl Classic will take place this weekend, with Florida Atlantic bringing Texas State, Oakland, Winthrop, Illinois State & Penn to Paradise for a full weekend of softball.

The Owls enter the weekend's action at 9-6 on the young season after a strong 4-1 tournament at the first Joan Joyce Classic last weekend
Florida Atlantic bounced back to close the weekend with four consecutive wins after dropping the opening game
Pitching was the key to victory, as the Owls' staff held opponents to 11 total runs and only seven earned for an ERA of 1.75 ERA
Gabby Sacco was the catalyst for the Owl staff, pitching to a miniscule 0.73 ERA in a 3-0 weekend and tallying 19 innings
On the season, FAU pitching has posted a sub-3 ERA – owning a 2.98 mark in 103.1 innings pitched
