Owls Meet FIU in AAC Quarterfinals

MIAMI – Florida Atlantic men's soccer will play its first AAC postseason match in program history on Sunday night. It will happen close to home in Miami when the six-seeded Owls take on the three-seed FIU at 7 p.m.

About the Owls

The Owls finished the regular season 5-7-3 overall and 3-5 in league play.
Noah Kvifte and Victor Claudel are tied for the team lead with six goals each.
Goalkeeper Rotem Fadida leads the AAC in saves and saves per game.
Fadida set a new season high with nine saves last time out against USF.
The Owls have one previous conference tournament title. That came in 2007 as part of the Atlantic Conference.
The last time FAU qualified for the postseason they reached the C-USA Championship game in 2021.

About the Panthers

FIU is ranked No. 23 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
Eduardo Mustre is second in the AAC with 11 goals. The junior scored the Panthers only goal two weeks ago against the Owls.
FIU won the AAC regular season and tournament crowns in 2022. The Panthers defeated New Hampshire in the NCAA first round before falling 1-0 to Duke in the Sweet Sixteen.

Series History

The Owls defeated the Panthers two weeks ago for the first time since 2013.
These two sides have never met in the postseason.

Charlotte awaits the winner in the semifinals. That match will be played Thursday at 4:30 EST in Dallas.
