BOCA RATON, Fla. – Week 12 of the 2023 NFL season is in the books with six former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action. Here's a rundown of how each performed during the 12th week (All gametimes listed below are Eastern):
Active Owls (6) #2 Azeez Al-Shaair | LB | Tennessee Titans
- Al-Shaair's eight tackles on the afternoon were enough to match his career high of 102 just 11 games into the season. Seven of them held the opposing offense to five yards or less as the Titans picked up a 17-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. Titans' Record: 4-7 Next Game: vs. Indianapolis – Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)
#88 Harrison Bryant | TE | Cleveland Browns
- Bryant made the most of his one reception on the afternoon, hauling in his second touchdown catch of the year. He finished the day with a total of 25 snaps, 14 on offense and 11 on special teams as Cleveland fell to the Denver Broncos by a score of 29-12. Browns' Record: 7-4 Next Game: at Los Angeles – Sunday, 4:25 p.m. (FOX)
#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
- For the third straight game and ninth times out of 11 games, Hendrickson brought down the QB for 10.5 sacks, clinching his third career season with double digit sacks. He currently ranks ninth in the NFL. Hendrickson added another tackle as Cincinnati was taken down by the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 16-10. Bengals' Record: 5-6 Next Game: at Jacksonville – Monday, 8:15 p.m. (ABC/ESPN)
#1 Greg Joseph | K | Minnesota Vikings
- Joseph was perfect on two clutch kick tries: the first a 34-yard field goal as time expired to tie the game at the end of the first half and an extra point to give the Vikings a one-point lead in the fourth quarter. Ultimately, the Chicago Bears would get the best of them on a last second field goal to win 12-10. Vikings' Record: 6-6 Next Game: Joseph will enjoy a week of rest before he and the rest of the Vikings regroup for a matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Dec. 10.
#42 James Pierre | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
- Pierre was on the field for 16 of Pittsburgh's special teams snaps. He has been a key fixture on that unit, being on for at least 65% of the snaps in each game. Pierre and Pittsburgh won the battle of former Owls, taking down Hendrickson and the Bengals, 16-10. Steelers' Record: 7-4 Next Game: vs. Arizona – Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)
#26 Devin Singletary | RB | Houston Texans
- "Motor" logged his fourth straight start as Houston's lead back. This time, his major contributions came from the passing game with a season-high six catches for 54 yards. Singletary's highlight of the day came from a simple screen that turned into a 33-yard gain and brought the Texans offense into the red zone, which they would score a touchdown two plays later. Houston came up just short against the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 24-21. Texans' Record: 6-5 Next Game: vs. Denver – Sunday 1 p.m. (CBS)
