LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's soccer shutout USF 1-0 in the 2023 AAC Championship quarterfinals in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, on Tuesday evening. The Owls improved to 8-6-5.
After facing the Bulls in the last game of the regular season it was time to face them again in the AAC tournament.
The match remained scoreless through the first half. In the 63rd minute, the Owls took the lead on a goal by
Molly Setsma, assisted by
Michelle Horan to put Florida Atlantic on top. Setsma and Horan set new career-highs on the night as Setsma registered her third goal of the season and Horan recorded her fifth assist of the season. Goalkeeper
Lexi Gonzalez recorded six saves on the night in the Bulls shutout.
