GRIMESLAND, N.C. – In their final regular season meet, Florida Atlantic University's women's cross country team passed a huge test.

The Owls crushed the 6K on Saturday morning at the East Carolina Pirate Invite, which will be the host site of the team's first AAC Championships on Oct. 28. The team posted a second place finish out of eight teams (85 points) and continued to post strong times with close spreads between the athletes.

- Jessica Hatch led the way with a 14th place finish out of 85 runners, posting a time of 22:29.7
- Elyssa Toal posted a time of 22:47.7, finishing in 22nd place
- Leah Helms followed closely behind in 23rd place with a time of 22:55.6
- Jordan Stevens tallied 24th place with a time of 22:59.7
- Paige Saiz rounded out scoring in 27th place with a time of 23:18.4

Now comes championship prep. The men's and women's teams will get to work over the next two weeks to get set for their first AAC Championships, also held in Grimesland, on Saturday, Oct. 28.
