Owls Take on Dual Meet

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swimming teams are back on the road to face off against Florida Gulf Coast's women's team and Bellarmine's men's and women's teams on Friday afternoon, to be hosted by FGCU.

Florida Atlantic is coming off a huge weekend in Miami at the yearly two-day TYR Fall Classic, hosted by FIU.Â
Men
- The men's team dominated with a first place finish out of five teams, scoring 527 points
- Peyton Ming was again the Owls' top swimmer, seizing first-place finishes in the 100 fly (49.95) and 100 back (50.45). He also finished second in the 200 fly (1:52.65).Â
- The Owls' relay teams continued to show out with four victories to their name. The winning 400 medley and 200 medley relay teams (Ming, Dalton Lillibridge, Jackson Kirk, Jacob Rubin) recorded times of 3:19.48 and 1:30.91, respectively, while the first place 200 free relay teams (Rubin, Kirk, Jack Sheehan, Logan Thornsberry) posted a time of 1:23.62. The 400 free relay team (Timo Paisley, Thornsberry, Rubin, Kirk) won with a time of 3:02.75
- Paisley also earned a victory in the 200 free (1:40.01)
- Brandon Shepherd took first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 261.65. For his efforts, he was named the ASUN Diver of the Week for the second time of the seasonÂ
- The women's team also impressed throughout the weekend, ultimately finishing in second place out of six teams
- Alicia Mora cleared the rest of the deck in the 1-meter dive, posting a winning score of 316.60
- Riley Trout tallied victories in the 100 back (57.13) and 200 back (2:02.63)
- Izzy Jones captured the win in the 50 free (23.74) and second place in the 100 free (52.00)
- Bilu Bianchi swam her way to second place in the 100 breast (1:04.10)Â
- Yasmine Safargar finished in second place in the 400 IM (4:28.94)
- Nula Gow placed in second in the 200 breast (2:20.89)
On Deck
The Owls are set to host their alumni and family meet on homecoming week on Saturday, Oct. 21, prior to Florida Atlantic's football game. Join fellow alums for a weekend of fun beginning with a social at the Sandbar in Delray Beach on Friday, Oct. 20.Â
