POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Florida Atlantic University men's soccer was kept off the board in a 2-0 defeat to Marist on Saturday night.
The Owls and Red Foxes played an evenly matched game from a statistical perspective, but the home side capitalized on scoring chances in the 35th and 89th minutes to stay undefeated.
Marist out chanced the Owls 11-8 with a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. FAU goalkeeper
Axel Hofmann made three saves in his second consecutive start.
Sebastian Zettl led the Owls with two shots on goal.
FAU now returns home for its first match as a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Owls will take on USF at 7 pm next Friday.
