BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team fought to a scoreless tie against Miami on Thursday night. The Owls now stand at 1-1-1, while Miami's record moves to 1-0-2. The Owl defense pitched it second consecutive shutout in the draw. FAU goalkeeper Blythe Braun tallied six saves and earned her second shutout in as many games. The Owls have not allowed a goal in 207 minutes and counting.

"Mixed emotions, I thought we did some good things, Miami definitely did some good things," FAU head coach Patrick Baker said. "They pitched back-to-back shutouts against Mississippi State and Alabama, so we knew that scoring chances would be limited and hard to come by. I thought we had some really good chances with Bri (Austin) Gi (Krstec) and Mia (Sennes)…their keeper made a great save in the second half. We got a fair share of corners; but we probably didn't do as much as I would have hoped with them. Probably in the balance of the game, a nil-nil result was in the cards for the balance of play."
"I think as a back line, we stayed compact really well," FAU senior defender Amanda Martin said. "We have been focusing a lot on stopping crosses and clearing our lines, and I think overall we did that really well, not just as a back line, but as a team."
