Del Prado Earns C-USA Pitcher of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University sophomore Nicholas Del Prado has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This marks the third C-USA weekly honor for FAU baseball this season.

Del Prado put forth the best performance of his career in Saturday's series finale against Marshall. Making just his sixth start of the season, the sophomore spun a complete game, struck out a career-high 10, and walked just two. He allowed a home run in the second inning and then proceeded to retire the next 13 hitters.

Del Prado joins teammates Jalen DeBose and Gabriel Rincones, Jr. as C-USA weekly award winners in 2022. The Owls finished the regular season 34-21 overall and 19-11 in league play. They'll meet UTSA in the first game of the C-USA tournament on Wednesday at 8:30 pm in Hattiesburg, Miss.
