HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The No. 10 (1) Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team (22-10) saw its stay at the Conference USA Beach Volleyball Championship come to an end following a 3-2 loss to No. 13 (2) FIU Saturday morning. The Owls will have to wait for tonight's selection show to see if they earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship.

Court five's Mica Allison/Logan Mignerey fell in straight sets, 21-15, 21-15 to hand FIU its first point. The Owls quickly tied it will a 21-15, 21-8 dominating win on court two by Courtney Moon/Marketa Svozilova. FAU pulled ahead in the duals following a three-set win by Ellie Austin/Julie Honzovicova, 13-21, 21-16, 15-12. Following Jillienne Cangelosi/Christine Jarman's hard-fought loss on court four, 27-29, 20-22, the match came down to court one. Erica Brok/Mackenzie Morris fell in the first set, 17-21, but clawed back to win the second, 21-17. In an exhausting point-by-point third set, the pair ended up following short, 26-24, as the Owls fell 3-2 in the dual.
