BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's women's tennis is coming off two home-match wins and will hope to keep that momentum going, playing four matches in the next six days.
Last week, the Owls picked up 4-0 victories over South Alabama and Temple to move the team's overall record to 7-6 and to 3-0 at home. The Owls will test that record playing Butler (March 8), VCU (March 11), Boston University (March 12) and Houston (March 13), all at home.
The freshman play of
Amber McGinnis, Millie-Mae Mathews,
Greta Schieroni,
Lexi Silna and
Carina Sommer has been a shining light, most recently. Matthews has pushed her dual-match record to 8-5. The eight wins leads the team. Silna has seven wins and is 7-3 overall. Both
Martina Kudelova and
Katerina Filip continue to provide leadership and handle the play on courts one and two, respectively. Kudelova holds a 6-6 dual-match mark and Filip is 6-3.
