BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team improved their home court record to 7-2 on the year by winning the big points when they needed them to defeat Brown 4-3, on Wednesday.

The win moves FAU's record to 11-9 overall and ties the all-time series with Brown at two.

The two teams were tied at one match each in doubles play with the clinching point in play on court one. The duo of Martina Kudelova and Katerina Filip saw their matched tied at three, at four, at five, at six and then moved into the tiebreaker, which followed in a similar fate, seeing the Owls pull away and take the match at 8-6. The court one win gave FAU the first point of the match and the two teams moved into singles competition.

The match score was tied at 2-2 with three singles matches to play. It was only fitting that Kudelova and Filip would provide points three (Kudelova) and, shortly after, the clinching point (Filip). Court five went to Brown, by an FAU retire, for the 4-3 final.
