STANFORD, Calif. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team completed the first of three rounds at the Goodwin Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Stanford on Thursday. With a team total of 281 (+1), the Owls sit in a tie for 15th out of 28 teams. The event is being contested on the 6742-yard, par 70 Stanford Golf Course.
- Max Sturdza's three-under par (67) was the low individual score on day one for FAU. The junior from Switzerland started his day with a birdie on the par-4 10th and took care of business with birdies on each of the three par 5s. Sturdza is three shots back of Stanford's Barclay Brown after 18 holes.
- Jake Hibbert is tied for 40th after posting a one-under par (69). Hibbert circled three birdies on his second nine after going out in two-over, 37.
- On the team leaderboard, the Owls are 13 shots behind the hosts, Stanford, at -12.
The Owls will get their second round started on Friday with tee times beginning at 1:20 p.m. PST.
