Owls Stand in Second After Day One of Southern Invitational

LAKE WORTH, Fla.  –  The FAU men's golf team enjoyed a strong showing in the Southern Invitational on Monday. After day one of the two-day event, the Owls stand in second place with a team score of 8-under par (568).
Leading the way with an exceptional performance was Max Sturdza. Sturdza currently sits third on the overall leader board with a -6 (138). He posted 10 birdies on the day to get to the six-under score and finished strong with birdies in holes 18 and 15 in round two.
Also having a strong day was Alex Maguire, who shot to a -4 (140) and is tied for fifth overall. Maguire posted 10 birdies as well and finished round two with birdies in three out of his last four holes.
Jake Hibbert finished the day one-over par (145) to tie for 18th place. Juan Delgado and Guilherme Grinberg tied each other for 27th on the leader board at +4 (148).
FAU led all teams in the tourney in Par 3's (+2) and Par 4's (+4).
FAU will round out the Southern Invitational tomorrow.
