BOCA RATON, Fla. – Letizia Bagnoli of the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team earned Conference USA Co-Player of the Week following opening week of the spring 2022 slate. Bagnoli shared this week's award with Old Dominion's Jana Melichova. This marks Bagnoli's fourth Player of the Week honor, meaning she has received the award following all but one tournament she has played in as an Owl.

The Owls opened up the 2022 spring season by hosting the FAU Paradise Invitational, which featured a competitive field of teams, such as No. 5 Florida, No. 38 Vanderbilt and No. 39 Mississippi State, among others. Bagnoli finished tied for 10, two strokes behind seventh, with a total score of 211, five-under-par. She scored a 66 in the third round, six-under-par, which was the second lowest score in the final round. Her impressive third round also jumped her up 21 spots in the standings. Bagnoli is the No. 38-ranked golfer in the NCAA and holds a 70.4 scoring average this season.Â

FAU will hit the road for the first time this spring, as the team will play at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee. Mercer will serve as the host of the tournament from Friday, Feb. 18 to Sunday, Feb. 20.
