BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's women's tennis team will return to the road for their eight match of 2022 and their seventh outside the friendly home confines. The Owls are scheduled to play Wichita State at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 11. It will be the first meeting between the two schools.
The Owls will enter the contest with a 3-4 record. They are coming of a 5-2 win over cross-state foe Florida Gulf Coast, last Saturday. The match is the only contest at home in the team's first nine outings.
FAU is led by the duo of Katerina Filip (3-3 dual match record at No. 2) and Martina Kudelova (4-3 dual match record at No. 1). But in recent weeks, it has been the play of freshmen Lexi Silna and Carina Sommer who have sparked the young squad. Silna captured both FGCU matches and Sommer has won her only two matches of the season.
