BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's tennis (3-5) returned to the road for a Friday contest at Wichita State, where the Owls lost a close 4-3 match to the Shockers.

WSU recorded the first point of the match by taking doubles courts two and three and then built a 2-0 lead, before redshirt junior Martina Kudelova won court one in convincing fashion at 6-4, 6-4. WSU pushed the match to 3-1 and was poised to secure the match, until the efforts of junior Katerina Filip and freshman Millie-Mae Matthews evened the match at 3-3.

The Owls would drop their court six match allowing the Shockers (5-3) to secure the 4-3 win. FAU (3-5) will next travel to Manhattan, Kansas to face Kansas State.
