FAU to Open Dual Match Season This Weekend

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's tennis will open their 2022 campaign under new direction this weekend, when the Owls travel to Fort Myers, Florida for the 2022 Florida Gulf Coast University Invite. The Owls are scheduled to play three dual matches as part of the season-opening event.

FAU will begin the dual match season on Saturday versus Middle Tennessee at noon. While MT is a Conference USA member, the match will not be a conference contest. On Sunday, FAU will challenge Georgia State, also at noon. The Owls will then square off against Minnesota at 8 a.m. on Monday.

The Owls are expected to be led by juniors Katerina Filip and Martina Kudelova. The duo will welcome the support of five freshmen, including redshirt Amber McGinnis, who transferred from Florida following the 2020 season.
