Six Begin Work this Weekend

Women head to Tampa for first tournament.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Six Florida Atlantic University women's tennis members will travel to Tampa, Florida for the 2021 Bedford Cup, scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament, as well as all fall tournaments, is an opportunity for the Owls to work on building their individual rankings prior to heading into the spring for dual match play. This weekend will be one of six opportunities for the younger players to face opponents as a collegiate player.

FAU will be led by veterans Martina Kudelova, who begins her fourth season of collegiate competition, and Katerina Filip, opening her third season and second at FAU. Newcomers include Amber McGinnis, a transfer from the University of Florida, as well as Greta Schieroni and Carina Sommer, both true freshmen.
