– The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (1-0) will close out the Houston Baptist University Tournament by playing host HBU (1-0) tomorrow at 9 p.m. Eastern at Sorrels Field. FAU will look to leave Texas with another "W" to stack in the win column.

- FAU has started the season 1-0 after defeating Incarnate Word, 1-0. This marked the third consecutive 1-0 shutout win in the Owls' season opener
- Filip Jauk leads the Owls with one goal for two points
- Neil Strauber leads the Owls in goal after having one save on three shots faced
- The Owls are one of three teams in the conference to begin the season 1-0
- The team was projected to finish sixth out of nine teams in the Conference USA Preseason Poll, as voted on by the C-USA coaches
- Alonso Coello Camarero and Ivan Mykhailenko were tabbed to the 14-person C-USA Preseason Team
- The team welcomes nine newcomers with fifteen different countries being represented on the roster

- HBU was projected to tie for 10th in the Western Athletic Conference, as voted on by the league's head coaches
- The Huskies finished the spring 2021 campaign in 11th with an 0-9-2 record
- CJ Smith leads the team with one goal for two points, while Abu Kamara leads the way with one assist
- JP Becerra (1-0) has one start with one save for the season
- Gianluca Natera and Bryant Farkalun were tabbed to the WAC Team with Honorable Mention honors. Farkalun led the team last year with eight points (three goals and two assists). Natera followed with four points on two goals
- Becerra and Gustavo Otero split time in goal last season. Becerra started in six matches to tally a 1.40 GAA, 27 saves and a 0-4-2 record. Otero recorded an 0-5-0 record with a 2.36 goals against average and 21 saves

- The Owls have a 1-0 edge over HBU in the series
- FAU and HBU last played one another in 2009, which resulted in a 2-0 shutout win for the Owls at the UCF Fall Classic

- FAU began the season with a 1-0 shutout win over Incarnate Word
- Jauk tallied the game-winning goal on a penalty kick taken in the 43rd minute. The goal marked the freshman's first of his career and first on the season
- Strauber captured his fifth career shutout after playing all 90 minutes in goal with one save
- FAU's backline held UIW to three shots with two of those being taken in the opening minutes of the match
- The team played 20 different players with five newcomers making their Owl debuts
