BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's volleyball will host teams from Stony Brook, North Florida and Wofford as part of the FAU Invite, which will officially kick off the 2021 volleyball season for each squad.

The new-look Owls feature a group of fresh faces to a solid contingent of veterans as the Owls look to build back better from their Spring 2021 campaign.

New Look

At the beginning of last season, the Owls were a team that had lost two key starters to injury, featured no seniors, lost a JUCO transfer the night before the first game and returned just two players from the previous year. The 2021 fall season - just four months later - is a completely different story.

FAU now boasts two impact freshmen in Noelle Stephens and Klara Zarnovicka and returns 11 players from last year. What this team lacked in experience, they now gain in the form of transfers Lauryn Green from Tulane University and Christine Jarman from the University of Virginia. Green, a sophomore middle blocker, has 31 matches to her credit while graduate transfer Jarman is a skilled all-rounder who should make an immediate impact in the Owls' frontcourt.

Tournament Play

This weekend marks the first tournament the Owls will have played in since Sept. 20-21, 2019 at the University of Miami. FAU will host two consecutive tournament series, including the Paradise Classic next weekend.

Series History

FAU vs. Stony Brook - First ever meeting

FAU vs. UNF - Owls lead the all -time series 8-4 and won the last matchup 3-0 in 2018. The Owls are 4-1 against the Ospreys at home.

FAU vs. Wofford - FAU is 2-1 against the Terriers, winning the last match 2-1 at a tournament hosted by Stetson in 2012.
