BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country teams have released their 2021 fall schedule. Head coach
Alex Smolka is in his 21st year at the helm of the cross country program.
The women's program is set to compete in four regular season meets, while the men will run in three. Both sides will commence the season by hosting seventh annual FAU Cross Country Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at South County Park in Boca Raton. The women's team will look to win the meet for the seventh consecutive time, not being able to run in the home meet last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Owls will take part in their first away meet at the Florida State Invite in Tallahassee, Florida on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 a.m. Following that race, the women's team only will run at the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Florida on Friday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.
Both teams will put a knot on the regular season back in Tallahassee at the FSU Pre-Nationals, which is set for Friday, Oct. 15 at 8 a.m.
The Conference USA Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Charlotte this season on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. The NCAA South Regionals will take place on Friday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. in Huntsville, Alabama.
