Indoor Volleyball Veteran Heads To The Sand

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team signed graduate transfer Mica Allison, a veteran of the indoor game, on Thursday.
"Excited for Mica Allison to be finishing up our roster for our 2021-22 season," FAU coach Capri Grotowski said. "Excited for her to bring in lots of good energy and we hope to bring her up to her best on the beach."
Allison spent the last two seasons at Illinois, appearing in 27 indoor volleyball matches for the Fighting Illini. The White Health, Illinois native and 2017-18 Gatorade Player of the Year earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2020-21. Allison also competed for the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team in 2019.Â
Prior to Illinois, Allison played her 2018 freshman season at Auburn. Allison started all 28 of the Tigers' matches that season, earning SEC All-Freshman, Kansas Invitational All-Tournament and SEC Setter of the Week (Oct. 29) honors.
Allison joins an FAU team returning all but two student-athletes from its CCSA Championship-winning 2021 squad.
