Skistad Named to United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Daniel Skistad of the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team was tabbed to the United Soccer Coaches 2020-21 Scholar All-Region Team, as announced by the organization. Skistad is one of 49 Division I men's soccer players nationally to be recognized and one of eight in Conference USA.

Skistad is the definition of a top student-athlete, maintaining a 3.93 GPA as an International business and business management major. The recent FAU alum, who graduated summa cum laude, boasted the best GPA on the team each year, while being named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) and Dean's List for three straight semesters. He was tabbed to the 10-person C-USA All-Academic Team as well.

Skistad started in all 12 games he appeared in, while clocking in the team's third most minutes with 1,087. The Drammen, Norway product earned his first career assist at Jacksonville in a 4-0 win. He was instrumental to the team's four shutouts this season, while limiting the opposition to just 11 goals, the least amount of goals given up by an FAU team in school history. After a great season leading the way on both sides of the ball, Skistad was recognized to the All-C-USA Third Team.

To be eligible for Scholar All-Region, student-athletes must have maintained a 3.40 cumulative grade point average or better, started more than 50 percent of games and significantly contribute to the team, nominated by the head coach of the student-athlete's member institution and be a junior or above in academic standing.
