BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 88th-ranked Florida Atlantic University men's golf team is heading to Texas for its final regular-season tournament of the season, the Bayou City Collegiate Classic.
No. 26 UTSA, No. 42 Arkansas State, No. 49 Houston, Rice, Sam Houston State, Abilene Christian, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Louisiana, McNeese State, New Mexico State, Nicholls State, North Texas, South Alabama, UTEP and Texas State are slated to join FAU in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic. Houston is hosting the tournament at the Westwood Country Club, a par 72, 7184-yard course, in Houston. Â
The Owls will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Live stats are available here.
"We are very excited to get back at it this week," FAU coach Ryan Jamison said. "We had a great week of practice and competition, and I feel like we are ready to do some damage."
This is the third tournament FAU has played in Texas this spring, as it competed in the Dallas-based Trinity Forest Invitational and the Austin-based George Hannon Intercollegiate in March.
Nils Dobrunz, a Nicholls State transfer, will make his FAU debut in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic. The Germany native earned a 2019-20 All-Louisiana honorable mention and led the Colonels with a 73.1 stroke average a season ago.
