BOCA RATON, Fla. – Three student-athletes from the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team were named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced by the league on Monday.
Jose Alastuey,
Ivan Mykhailenko and
Daniel Skistad were three of 10 chosen to the All-Academic team, with FAU tying with Kentucky for the most representatives.

Joey Worthen. "They each embody what it means to be a student-athlete. They excel on the field and in the classroom. I'm happy for them to have earned this award and recognition!"

Jose Alastuey
Alastuey holds a 3.910 GPA as a business management major. He made the President's List (4.0 GPA) in his second semester and Dean's List (top 3% in his college) all three semesters as an Owl. The sophomore has started in all seven matches he has appeared in, averaging 73 minutes a game. The Zaragoza, Spain native tallied an assist on the game-winning goal at ODU in a 1-0 victory, while taking two shots.

Ivan Mykhailenko
Mykhailenko excels on the pitch and in the classroom, posting three straight semesters above a 3.2 GPA. The Kyiv, Ukraine product is majoring in marketing and holds a 3.506 GPA. Mykhailenko led the Owls in goals (six) and points (12) for the second straight season, while coming up with three game-winning goals. The striker had two multiple-point games this year after two-goal performances over South Carolina and UAB. He was also a C-USA Preseason Team choice and one-time C-USA Offensive Player of the Week.

Daniel Skistad
Skistad is the definition of a top student-athlete, maintaining a 3.927 GPA as an International business and business management major. The soon-to-be graduate boasts the best GPA on the team, while being named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) and Dean's List for three straight semesters. He will graduate summa cum laude next Thursday. Skistad started in all 12 games he appeared in, while clocking in a team's third most minutes with 1,087. The Drammen, Norway product earned his first career assist at Jacksonville in the 4-0 win. He has been instrumental to the team's four shutouts this season, while limiting the opposition to just 11 goals, the least amount of goals given up by a team in school history.

This marks the first time in school history the program has had three representatives on the All-Academic Team. The most prior to this season was two in 2011.
